CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — This guy left cops scratching their heads.

A suspect in northwest Georgia abandoned a scratch-off lottery ticket worth $100 while running from sheriff’s deputies during a traffic stop Monday, authorities said.

The man was a passenger in a car driving in the city of Canton when the vehicle was pulled over on Interstate 75, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

As soon as the driver stopped, the suspect jumped out of the car and fled the scene, leaving behind his winning ticket and some methamphetamine, officials said.

“You can claim your ticket at 498 Chattin Dr. in Canton,” authorities wrote, referring to the address for the sheriff’s office.

“It will be here waiting for you. Congratulations by the way,” the post reads.

About half an hour later, deputies announced that the man had just been found and was already in custody.

The suspect was not completely out of luck, though.

“And yes he will get his lottery ticket back,” officials said on Facebook, “but we are keeping his methamphetamine.”

The man’s name and charges have not been released.
