WILCOX, Ariz. — Border Patrol agents discovered something unexpected inside a coffin during a traffic stop.
According to Willcox Range News, agents working an immigration checkpoint became suspicious of a white hearse and conducted a vehicle stop Saturday night.
When questioned, the driver’s answers were inconsistent and agents called in a K-9 unit to search the vehicle.
After the K-9s flagged the coffin, the agents discovered 67 pounds of marijuana. In an attempt to mask the odor, the driver had placed bags of manure inside the coffin.
The 28-year-old driver was arrested for narcotics smuggling.
