Nebraska State Patrol trooper Parnell Matthews is known around the Omaha for making his life’s work the care, protection and safety of others. Now, after having suffered a stroke during a training exercise, the 35-year-old law enforcer is fighting for his own life. Last week, Matthews was flown to Nebraska Medical Center, where he remains in a coma.
Four years ago, a local television station did a ride along with Matthews, and in his report today about his medical condition, the reporter was quick to point out that family and friends alike will say that “no one works harder” and that his work ethic is “unmistakable.”
Several Police1 members have sent us notes about Matthews’ condition, urging us to post what we can to get the word out.
