LOS ANGELES — A park ranger died Saturday of a heart attack after working during a major fire.
Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks Captain Albert Torres died following a 14-hour shift patrolling parks in the Saddleridge Fire evacuation zones.
CBSLA reports Torres, a 40-year veteran of the department, suffered a heart attack at the department’s headquarters on Friday, just after completing a 14-hour patrol shift. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died the following morning.
