AUBURN, Wash. — Auburn police say a stray firework torched a patrol cruiser Wednesday night near the Muckleshoot Casino.
Officers were called to a fireworks stand near the casino at 10:30 p.m. to help disperse a number of people who were lighting fireworks at a nearby discharge area, according to Dave Colglazier with the Auburn Police Department.
As a line of patrol cars drove through the area dispersing people, an unmarked patrol car either ran over a live firework or one flew underneath the car, starting a fire in the trunk.
