ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — A man brandishing knives was shot to death during a confrontation with police outside a Rolling Meadows apartment complex Saturday night, authorities said.
Michael Chybicki, 44, of Lake in the Hills was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, where he was pronounced dead at 10:40 p.m., according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
At about 8:50 p.m. police received a call about an armed and intoxicated man from an apartment in the 4800 block of Weber Drive. When officers found the suspect near an adjacent building, they were threatened by Chybicki and responded with lethal force, authorities said.
