AUSTIN — A man and two officers were injured Tuesday after the man intentionally set his car on fire – causing an explosion.
The Austin American Statesman reports officers responded to the call of a suicidal man when the incident occurred.
The suspect jumped into his car as police approached and said, “I think I’m going to set the car on fire,” KXAN reported.
The ensuing blast pushed one of the officers backwards onto the ground. All three people involved in the incident were transported to a local hospital.
