SHREVEPORT, La. — A Shreveport police officer is one of three people who were treated at local hospitals early this morning following two unrelated accidents.
Around midnight, the officer was traveling on Youree Drive, state Highway 1, near LSUS, when a vehicle pulled out of the university driveway and into the path of his patrol car, according to reports.
The officer was on his way to call and couldn’t avoid colliding with the other vehicle.
He was treated and released from the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital by ambulance, her condition is unknown at the time.
About an hour later, the driver of a van crashed into concrete near Greenwood Road and Hearne Avenue, according to reports. The female driver was taken to the hospital with injuries police describe as life-threatening.
