The Berkeley (Calif.) Police Department has put a brand new Polaris Ranger, 4-wheel drive vehicle into service. Berkeley Police Department Lt. Kevin Schofield told Police1 the vehicle will be used for a variety of roles including university football games, community events, street fairs and searches for missing persons and children. The vehicle is small, maneuverable and capable of off-roading. Most recently, the vehicle was used for the Solano Stroll, a community event, where crowds exceeded 250,000 people, Schofield said.
“It was a big hit, kids were climbing all over it,” he told Police1.
