RENTON, Wash. — Local officers helped recover a custom trike for a quadriplegic teen Wednesday.
The 15-year-old and his mom reported the trike was stolen, and Officer Tierney spread the information to all officers on duty to help find the special bike, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.
“Officer Nielsen (pictured here with the victim, family members and the trike) immediately jumped on the case,” the post read. “Nielsen got some ‘intel from a street informant’ about where the trike was and who the suspect is. We have located some video and will be arresting the suspect soon.”
Officer Moynihan, who helped return the bike, also purchased a bike lock for the teen, to keep it safe in the future.
