NAPA, Calif. — The 74th Basic Police Academy class of the Napa Valley College will graduate today in a 10 a.m. ceremony in the college gymnasium.
Napa County Sheriff Douglas Koford will conduct a formal inspection of the class before the ceremony.
The Dunvegan Pipe Band will lead the class, and the colors will be presented by the San Rafael Police Department Color Guard.
A moment of silence will be observed for fallen law enforcement officers.
Academy director Damien Sandoval will make introductions. Vice president of Instruction Sue Nelson will welcome those attending.
Recruit training officer deputy Geoffrey Rochester and Class 74 president cadet Richard Abdelnour are featured speakers. Scholarships, including awards in memory of Officer Craig McCarthy and Bruce Beckler, will be announced and the class valedictorian will be honored.
