BATON ROUGE, La. — Baton Rouge police Cpl. Myron Daniels, the officer shot in the abdomen during a shootout June 20, was released from the hospital Wednesday, police Department spokesman Sgt. Don Kelly said Thursday.
Daniels, 34, a training officer with the Police Department, and Cpl. Brannon Ogden, 28, a uniform patrol officer, were both shot on June 20 at the Suburban Apartments, 6515 Hanks, after a pursuit of an armed suspect.
Ogden was treated and released that night for a gunshot wound to the arm, but Daniels went through surgeries and was placed in intensive care while he recovered. He was released Wednesday but will continue to recover at home.
Ogden was cleared for duty and returned to work Monday, Kelly said.
Christopher Joseph Johnson, 27, 6515 Hanks Drive, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on June 23 on three counts of attempted first-degree murder and other counts in the incident.
