NEW PHILIDELPHIA, Ohio — An aviation unit from the Ohio State Highway Patrol was able to find four teens who did not return from a tubing trip, WJW reports.
The teens were tubing along a remote bank of the Tuscarawas River around 2 a.m. on May 30. They were reported missing about six and a half hours after entering the water. The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from Ohio State Highway Patrol’s aviation section.
OSHP Aviation located the teens standing at the edge of the water.
“They look like they’re kinda cold, we might wanna get EMS started down that way as well if we haven’t already,” a trooper can be heard saying to a dispatcher.
The trooper then gave directions to a deputy from up above while keeping a light on the teens until the deputy was able to make contact.
