ALPINE, Texas — Two people, including a police officer, were injured after a female student opened fire before turning the gun on herself at Alpine High School Thursday morning, according to officials.
The Alpine Avalanche reported on Facebook that the high school had been evacuated and all students are being released early.
Brewster County Sheriff’s officials told NewsWest9 the two students involved includes the deceased shooter. One officer was mistakenly shot by another officer.

The shooter was a student at Alpine High School.
The injured student and officer are being treated at a local hospital. There is no word on their conditions.
Sul Ross State University is on lockdown as well after a bomb threat was called in shortly after the shooting occurred, NewsWest9 reports.
