COLUMBIA, Mo. — Three people with out-of-state warrants remained in custody today at the Boone County Jail after Columbia police stopped them over the weekend on traffic violations.
Jake Evans Loughborough of Plano, Texas, and Campbell Armstrong Lillard of Dallas, both 18, were arrested on a warrant for aggravated robbery, according to Boone County Sheriff’s Department records. They each are being held on $300,000 bond.
Sgt. Ken Gregory of the Columbia Police Department this morning said the teens were pulled over for speeding at about 9:20 a.m. Sunday as they were coming into town on Interstate 70 near Lake of the Woods.
At the time of the arrest, the officers did not know about the warrant, but they soon identified the pair as fugitives and stopped them farther down I-70.
Melissa Olivo, 24, of Columbia also was picked up over the weekend on a warrant for a drug offense in Nebraska, where she used to live. Gregory said Olivo, who has lived in Columbia about a year, was pulled over Saturday for speeding but was not immediately taken into custody, Gregory said.
“There are two ways you can check people,” Gregory said, “using their driver’s license number or using their name and date of birth.” The arresting officers likely ran Olivo’s Missouri driver’s license, and the warrant information did not appear because it was attached to her Nebraska license, Gregory said.
The warrants appeared later on, Gregory said, when officers doing paperwork for the traffic violation ran Olivo’s name and date of birth through a law enforcement database. Officers contacted Olivo at her place of employment and brought her into custody, he said. Her bond was set at $50,000.
Sheriff’s Department Maj. Tom Reddin said the three will be held at the Boone County Jail as they go through the extradition process. “They could go back within a week, or next month,” he said. “It depends on whether they wish to contest extradition.”
