KUTZTOWN BOROUGH, Pa. — A Pennsylvania police department’s search for three volunteers to get drunk on the department’s dime received an overwhelming response.

The Kutztown Borough Police Department posted on their Facebook page that they were searching for volunteers to help officers with field sobriety training, NPR reports.

But, the department was flooded with so many requests from eager volunteers, they had to make it clear that it was for a limited time.

“We have an overwhelming response for this,” reads a comment by the Kutztown police. “And at this point we have enough volunteers.”

The post was shared more than 1,400 times by Thursday night, and hundreds of people left comments for a borough with a population of 5,000.

Since the initial request, the department set a few stipulations. Participants for the training have to be in good health with a clean criminal record and no history of drug or alcohol abuse. They have to sign a waiver and need to have a sober companion prepared to take them home afterwards.
