FUBU and SeanJohn clothing, mainly the jeans and jean jackets, have several pockets on them. The zipper area has a pocket behind the zipper. I counted as many as 18 pockets or compartments on a pair of these particular jeans.
The jacket I checked had 8 pockets, one being behind the logo on the back of the jacket. I also checked the Fat Albert clothing and found several pockets on them similiar to the FUBU clothing.
The hidden pocket behind the zipper was discovered after a subject was transported to the detention unit. He was not wearing a belt and therefore was given a pair of paper pants. While putting the jeans in his property the hidden pocket was found. Inside one of the pockets was 24 rocks of crack cocaine.
BET (Black Entertainment Television) had the makers of FUBU and SeanJohn asking the audience where the pockets should be for the purpose of hiding money in the event of being a victim. I then responded to an area clothing store and checked the clothing counting several hidden pockets. Some of the pockets can hold a small caliber handgun or a knife.
Officers should be attentive when making contact with person or persons wearing designer clothing from the makers of FUBU, FatAlbert, SeanJohn and so on. It should be noted that the pockets were not sewn in by the consumer but, by the manufacture.
