This week’s photo comes from Bureau of Land Management (BLM) officer Matt Gochis, who writes:

“This was taken on December 28 at Red Rock National Conservation Area, when a man dislocated his knee and was unable to hike out of a popular canyon. I hiked in and confirmed the hiker was not mobile and requested Metro search and rescue.

“BLM and Metro Las Vegas work closely for search and rescues. This helo has hoist capabilities that allow Metro officers to be lowered to the patient.

“This photo is of the Metro officer after recovering the patient and transporting to a nearby landing zone where medical was waiting.”

Excellent work!
