LINCOLN PARK, Mich. — A woman punched an officer attempting to arrest her friend during a traffic stop last week.

Officer Patrick Culter pulled over the car Kristen Campbell was riding in and determined the driver didn’t have a license, ClickonDetroit reported.

When Culter attempted to arrest the driver, Campbell became verbally belligerent with the officer. Culter attempted to arrest Campbell, but she resisted and punched him.

“She started running her mouth, and I told her she’s going to jail,” Culter said. “I go to grab her hands and she turned around and got me with those rings.”

She told the news station she punched the officer because she didn’t know who grabbed her from behind because the officer “didn’t say anything.”

A bystander threw Culter the handcuffs he lost during the struggle. Campbell continued to resist and was TASERed three times.

Culter suffered a black eye and is back on patrol.
