SANTA FE, N.M. — A surveillance camera set up to nab graffiti vandals recorded a New Mexico State Police officer apparently having sex with a woman on county property.

Santa Fe County Sheriff Robert Garcia confirmed that he has pictures of the uniformed officer engaging in sex acts, and two photographs have been released under a public records request by the Albuquerque Journal, according to USA Today.

In the photos, the officer is standing and leaning over a woman, who is lying on the hood of a car with her bare legs wrapped around the man’s body, the newspaper reported. His utility belt hangs behind him, and a small dog appears to be gazing in the direction of the couple.

As of Tuesday, the officer’s internal investigation is complete, although it is unclear what disciplinary action will be taken.

“Because there is a pending personnel action, the chief is not prepared to comment on that at this time,” said State Police Maj. David Martinez.

Garcia said he was glad the officer is not from his department, though he added that nothing illegal appeared to be going on in the pictures.
