CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Cape Coral police have released dash-cam video of an April traffic stop to address accusations of excessive force.
Cape police say its rare to release video for what they call a “standard use of force;" but family of the man taken down say they don’t feel that level of force was necessary.
Police say it started with an early morning traffic stop on Friday, April 29. A Cape police officer was joined by a Lee County deputy in the area at the time during a stop of 23 year-old Blake Williams and his passenger because of a missing tag light.
