SARALAND, Ala. — A Saraland police officer shot early Wednesday morning has now been identified as Officer Jackie Tucker, according to WKRG. Tucker is listed in critical, but stable condition, reports say.
According to Saraland Police Chief, James West, the suspect, Blake Richardson opened fire on two responding officers immediately, striking Turner in the head.
At 12:45 p.m., Richardson was pronounced dead at Spring Hill hospital.
Officers responded to a domestic call on Martha Alleyn Drive in Saraland where the shooting took place.
Before he was captured by police and transported to Spring Hill hospital for his injuries, Richardson attempted to elude officers.
