If you’re making contact with someone who you suspect might be trouble and they’re leaning against a car, check the tops of the car tires on the side of the vehicle they’re leaning against early on in the contact. That can be a hiding spot for a handgun. Being positioned under the relative cover of the wheel well can make it difficult to quickly spot the weapon and the height of the top of a car tire can make access to the gun quick and convenient.
