SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco’s police chief says an officer shot a man who attempted to carjack at least two cars near the airport.
Police Chief Greg Suhr says the suspect tried to carjack a vehicle near Highway 101 on Sunday but got out of the car after the motorist refused to drive.
Suhr says a police officer ordered the man to stop, but he ran to some bushes where he hid for a bit.
The man then came out of the bushes and began walking toward the officer. When he refused to stop, the officer shot him once in the abdomen.
Suhr says the suspect is at a hospital in serious but stable condition.
