CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two members of a drug enforcement police unit in York County are recovering gunshot wounds they suffered Wednesday night while serving a search warrant at a house in Rock Hill, authorities say.
Both injured officers are expected to recover, police say.
The gunman also was shot during the confrontation, and police say his injuries are not life-threatening.
The suspect has been identified by Rock Hill police as Tymon James Wells, 31, of Rock Hill. He was charged with two counts of assault and battery with intent to kill; assault with intent to kill; two counts of possession of a firearm during a violent crime; and a nunber of drug-related charges. He remains in a York County jail.
