DENHAM SPRINGS, La- A 47-year-old man was fatally shot Monday afternoon by two police officers, both of whom were shot in the confrontation, police said.
The man, Daniel Annison Jr., was shot in his front yard at about 4:15 p.m., police said.
The officers shot in the incident were Cpl. Matthew Martello and David Hooter. WAFB-TV reported that Martello was shot in the face and that Hooter was released from the hospital later Monday.
Police Chief Jeff Wesley said the shooting happened when the officers showed up at the home after Annison’s family reported a domestic disturbance. When Annison’s mother opened the door, Annison pushed her aside and shot the officers, Wesley said.
