PHILADELPHIA — Officials have launched an investigation after a photo of two Philadelphia police officers asleep in their patrol car surfaced on social media.
The photo was taken Saturday in the 24th District and was circulated on Twitter.
Police spokesman Lt. John Stanford tells Philly.com that’s very dangerous if someone was able to walk up that close and take a photo because the officers don’t know what’s going on around them.
Stanford says officials need to make sure the officers did not violate any additional department policies.
The names of the officers have not been released.
