PHOENIX — A Phoenix police officer who pointed a finger at a fellow cop for alleged misconduct had to leave his office Friday. CBS 5 News reported Wednesday that there was a “bust” that didn’t happen.
According to a memo sent by Sgt. Philip Roberts, a co-worker delayed arresting a suspect who had 60 hand grenades for sale, because she wanted another Lieutenant, Lauri Burgett, to get the credit.
CBS 5 learned that Sgt. Roberts was moved to permanent patrol position Friday. Mark Spencer with the Phoenix Police Union said that the transfer was made to get back at Roberts for speaking out.
