GEORGETOWN, Del. — State police detail in court records the last moments of Georgetown Police Officer Chad Spicer’s life: About 6:42 p.m., when a 911 call came in about a shooting in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant on Route 113, a general broadcast was issued describing a silver Dodge Stratus with tinted windows seen fleeing the shooting scene.
Georgetown Officers Shawn Brittingham and Chad Spicer, on patrol in the area, spotted the car in the area of the Circle in Georgetown and attempted to stop it.
The vehicle, later found to be a Chrysler Sebring, sped off with Christopher Reeves, 20, at the wheel. The two officers pursued the car to East Market Street and then onto North King Street. The car quickly stopped in the area of North King and Rosa streets in the Kimmeytown neighborhood, where the police cruiser pulled up alongside the suspects’ car.
