PHILADELPHIA — Four Philadelphia police officers were injured this morning when their cruiser collided with a car that had run a stoplight, police said.
The smashup occured about 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Broad and Lycoming Streets. The officers, who were not seriously hurt, were headed north on Broad Street on their way to an assignment when a westbound car ran a red light. The cruiser struck the car near the back of the driver’s side, said a police spokeswoman.
The officers and the civilian driver were taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment. They were reported to be in stable condition.
