SANFORD, Fla. — Three Sanford Police officers responded to a home for a well-being check last week but instead ended up delivering a pizza and teaching a child about the proper use of the emergency hotline, according to the Sanford Police Department.

Dispatch informed officers that a child called the department saying he was hungry and called the department to order a pizza, SPD said.

Officers responded with the intention of checking in on the well being of the boy and were greeted by the boy’s older sister upon arrival, who had no knowledge her brother made the call, according to SPD.

The sister told officers they were fine.

The three officers spoke to the boy about how to properly use the emergency hotline.

After, they went to Pizza Hut and delivered the child a pizza, according to SPD.
