INDIANAPOLIS — A fallen IMPD officer was honored in a different way on Tuesday. It’s the kind of honor IMPD Officer Perry Renn would have loved.
A 3-month-old puppy named Renn will honor Officer Renn. The yellow Golden Retriever Labrador mix puppy is being trained by the Indiana Canine Assistance Network, ICAN as it’s known, to become a service dog.
“Officer Renn was an avid dog lover. And the addition of this K-9 to the ICAN team will be a powerful reminder of the work Officer Renn did throughout his career,” said Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard.
