CLEVELAND — An officer responding to a call of a two-year-old boy who fell into a pool rescued the boy and administer CPR, saving his life.

Officer Ismael Quintana overheard a call come over the radio about a toddler who had fallen into a pool while his aunt, who was responsible for watching him, was speaking to another officer about property damage she had and was not paying attention to the child.

“He was purple, he was lifeless,” the boy’s aunt told Fox. “When they picked him up, he had nothing. He was like shaking, his lips were shaking. It’s something I’m never gonna ever forget.”

The body cam shows the officer and child’s aunt working together and performing CPR on the boy. They revived him and he is expected to be okay.

The officer, a father of two, said he saw the boy lying in the driveway when he arrived on the scene.

“Honestly, I’ve been a police officer for eight years. I’ve seen some pretty serious stuff, living in the city, being a police officer in the city,” said Quintana. “That’s probably been the only time I’ve ever been scared.”
