Ind. Cops Cycling for Survivors depart on tour of state to aid families of LEOs killed in the line of duty

This will be the 24th year that CC4S will take to the roads in support the families of fallen officers, encouraging the public to “never forget [their] service and sacrifice”

INDIANAPOLIS — Cops Cycling for Survivors is inviting the public to attend Monday’s opening kickoff ceremony for the 2025 ride.

This will be the 24th year that CC4S will take to the roads around the state of Indiana supporting the families of fallen police officers and encouraging the public to never forget the service and sacrifice of our fallen heroes.

On Monday, cyclists will depart from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and head west in the 13-day and 1,000 mile journey that will touch all four corners of the state and go from the shores of Lake Michigan to the banks of the Ohio River. The route for the ride is below:

  • Monday, Day 1 — Plainfield to Terre Haute
  • Tuesday, Day 2 — Terre Haute to Kentland
  • Wednesday, Day 3 — Kentland to Merrillville
  • July 10 , Day 4 — Merrillville to South Bend / Mishawaka
  • July 11 , Day 5 — Mishawaka to Angola
  • July 12 , Day 6 — Angola to Bluffton
  • July 13 , Day 7 — Bluffton to Richmond
  • July 14 , Day 8 — Richmond to Madison
  • July 15 , Day 9 — Madison to Jeffersonville
  • July 16 , Day 10 — Jeffersonville to Jasper
  • July 17 , Day 11 — Jasper to Vincennes
  • July 18 , Day 12 — Vincennes to Bloomington
  • July 19 , Day 13 — Bloomington to Indianapolis

The opening ceremony will begin at 8 a.m. at ILEA, 5402 Sugar Grove Road , Plainfield . The closing ceremony will be held in the Heroes of Public Safety section of Crown Hill Cemetery , 700 38th St. , Indianapolis . The cyclists will arrive for the closing ceremony at 2 p.m.

There are four police officers who will be given recognition for line of duty deaths in 2024:

  • Hendricks County Deputy Sheriff Fred Fislar (End of Watch 4/16/2024)
  • Newton County Sheriff’s Cpl. Brandon Schreiber (End of Watch 9/11/2024)
  • Indiana Department of Corrections Lt . Donald Neiswinger , Jr. (End of Watch 1/18/2022)
  • Indiana DOC Officer Shawn Burnell (End of Watch 10/18/2020)
