DESTIN, Fla. — Body cam video has been released capturing the rescue of a crash victim from a burning vehicle.
According to WPTV/CNN, officers responded to the scene Christmas Day and found the driver locked inside the car, suffering from smoke inhalation.
Deputies immediately smashed the window of the vehicle and dragged the man to safety. The victim was treated for minor injuries and released.
The deputies involved were honored with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Department Medal of Merit Thursday for their heroic actions.
