Wayne Blackmore thought he was getting pulled over when he received the big news

WYLIE, Texas — Becoming a parent is big news - and one Texas woman found a big way to tell her husband she was expecting.

Michelle Blackmore recruited local police to help break the news to her husband.

In a video posted on Michelle’s Facebook, Wayne was tricked into thinking officers were pulling him over for not having a front license plate.

Wayne told the officer the reason they didn’t have one was because his wife thought it looked dorky. Officers “ran” his plates and license and returned to tell him they weren’t going to write him a ticket. But they did have a little message for him.

“Irregardless of how dorky something might look or if somebody else might not think it’s important, the state of Texas says it is,” the officer told the couple. “And as a parent, we also have to make sure we’re good role models. And seeing as how you’re in that boat now, don’t you think it’s important to you do the same?”

The officer handed Wayne a photo and Michelle showed him the positive pregnancy test.

The announcement comes after the couple’s second round of in-vitro fertilization.
