SAN JOSE, Calif. — A teen and a San Jose police officer were taken to the hospital with minor injuries Monday night after their cars crashed on Minnesota Avenue in Willow Glen.
Both were treated and released from the hospital that evening, San Jose police officer Jermaine Thomas said.
Thomas said the 17-year-old boy was driving his two-door compact silver car west on Minnesota when he attempted to turn left onto Settle Avenue and crashed into the oncoming patrol car at about 10:15 p.m.
The teen was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic. Police did not immediately release the officer’s name.
