A 20-year-old Red Bank man wanted in connection with a shootout at his home last week surrendered to police early Monday morning after a 71/2-hour standoff with Chattanooga SWAT officers.
Dustin Frisbee, who according to Red Bank police was occupying both apartment 3 and apartment 7 at 1111 Dayton Blvd., had barricaded himself in the ceiling of apartment 3 about 10:30 p.m. Sunday when a patrol officer noticed the door was open and stopped by to investigate, Police Chief Larry Sneed said.
Two witnesses told the officer Mr. Frisbee was inside the apartment, but they could not tell police whether he was armed, Chief Sneed said.
Red Bank police then called the Chattanooga Police Department’s SWAT team for assistance with the “high-risk warrant procedure,” said Officer Tetzel Tillery, Chattanooga Police Department spokesman.
Mr. Frisbee, who according to Chief Sneed surrendered between 5:30 and 6 a.m. Monday, is being held at the Hamilton County Jail on two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
His bond is set at $150,000, officials said.
Police believe Mr. Frisbee was involved in a shootout last Tuesday between one of his apartments and the parking lot, according to reports.
Chief Sneed said 4 grams of cocaine were found in Mr. Frisbee’s possession at the time of his arrest.
Investigators were looking for the second gunman Monday, Chief Sneed said.
