JUNEAU COUNTY, Wis. — An intoxicated woman stole a deputy’s patrol vehicle and led police on a pursuit, WAOW reported.
A Juneau County deputy and a state trooper were at a gas station dealing with the woman, 29-year-old Sara Windom, and an intoxicated man. Windom left the store and the deputy noticed his patrol vehicle was missing from out front.
A witness told the deputy Windom had taken the vehicle. Both officers used the trooper’s vehicle to pursue Windom.
When they pulled her over, she said “sorry.”
“‘Sorry doesn’t cut it, honey,” the deputy said.
Windom was taken into custody. The sheriff recommended she be charged with her third drunken driving offense, operating without an ignition interlock and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
