WASHINGTON — Footage from Wednesday’s riots at the Capitol shows a police officer being crushed against a door as pro-Trump protesters attempt to push their way deeper into the building.
According to the New York Post, the officer, who has not been identified, is seen screaming for help with a bloodied mouth as he’s pinned.

Five people died during the siege, including one officer, Brian Sicknick. Over 50 officers were hurt during the violence.
On Thursday, U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund announced his resignation amid criticism over law enforcement’s preparation and response to the breach. Among the critics was Gus Papathanasiou, head of the Capitol Police union, who said officers were failed by leadership and left exposed against the increasingly violent crowd.
