DALLAS — Police have opened an investigation after finding that a woman discovered dead in her home had called 911 two days prior to report she was being attacked.
The body of Deanna Patrick, 32, was found by family members in her bathtub Sunday, Yahoo News reported.
Dallas Police wrote on its Facebook page that the 911 call came in Friday from a cell phone. Once dispatch confirmed the location, which took about nine minutes, the first available officers were sent to the home.
Officers knocked on the door and got no answer, then did a perimeter check and requested a call-back of the cell phone, which went to voicemail. The post reports neighbors who were questioned said they hadn’t heard any disturbance.
According to the Dallas Morning News, which cited police records, Patrick said in the call her ex-husband was attacking her.
“Why are you doing this?” Cook said, according to the paper.
Delvecchio Patrick was arrested and charged with murder. He is currently in the Dallas County Jail on $500,000 bond.
Police have not released the 911 call to the public.
