IACP 2012 video interview: LexisNexis Accurint Mobile

The LexisNexis Accurint Mobile for Law Enforcement solution allows officers to access LexisNexis public records on a variety of handheld devices

Editor’s Note: Many thanks to our friends at TASER International for equipping me with the TASER AXON Flex body-worn video camera and Evidence.com digital evidence management solution for secure video storage and retrieval.

During IACP 2012 in San Diego, I connected briefly with Bill Hatfield of LexisNexis, who had some new information to share about how officers can connect to myriad public safety databases via consumer-grade mobile devices.

The LexisNexis Accurint Mobile for Law Enforcement solution allows officers to access LexisNexis public records on a variety of handheld devices — iPad, iPhone, Droid, and Blackberry — enabling them to stay connected and verify information in the field and rapidly follow up with new leads as they develop.

Putting this type of solution in to the hands of the patrol officer can significantly reduce time spent “back at the company” where such computer connectivity had previously existed, and can potentially shorten time required to solve and close cases.

This solution will soon be available on the HTML5 platform.
