GARDENA, Calif. — At least two people were shot at a high school in Los Angeles this morning. A person of interest is in custody and police are investigating.
The condition of the victims is not yet known and police not yet revealed a motive for the violence. We also do not yet know if the victims were students, staff, or faculty.
Television reports indicate that the shooter may be as young as 14 years old.
An Los Angeles Unified School District report said that the gun may have been dropped while in a backpack, firing the rounds accidentally.
Students are being escorted off the campus to be with their families.
