Man arrested in Hollywood apartment slaying after SWAT standoff

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles police say a man has been taken into custody after an hours-long standoff that forced the evacuation of an apartment building along the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Officer Norma Eisenman says officers were called to the Hudson Apartments on Hollywood Boulevard at about 3 a.m. Tuesday and found the body of a woman lying in a third-floor hallway.

Eisenman says the woman appeared to be about 25 years old and had been shot several times.

Police evacuated some people from the building and a SWAT team was called.

Lt. Robert Binder tells KTLA-TV that the man was peacefully taken into custody in the apartment more than four hours later.
