(MEMPHIS, Tenn.) -- A police officer arrested for drunken driving in Midtown last month has been relieved of duty with pay.

Christopher Robison, who was off duty and in his own car, was arrested Jan. 29 shortly after 12:30 a.m. on the parking lot of Zinnie’s restaurant on Madison Avenue.

Robison’s car hit a pole on the lot as he was leaving, said police spokesman LaTanya Able.

Robison, a West precinct officer, is charged with DUI, reckless driving and refusing to take a blood alcohol test.

Police released details of Robison’s arrest days after the Sunday arrest of another off duty officer.

Southeast precinct Patrolman Ernest D. Strickland is charged with DUI, evading arrest, reckless driving and refusing to take a blood alcohol test.

Strickland allegedly sideswiped another car, lost control of his own car and then hit a third car at Interstate 40 near the Millington exit.

Like Robison, he is relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
