DALLAS — Dallas police supervisors have placed two officers on restricted duty while they investigate allegations that the officers beat a man in front of his Rylie home early Wednesday morning.

Fletcher Clayton Morrison, 49, said in an interview that he had been drinking and driving before he pulled up to his home in the 14700 block of Lasater Road near Interstate 20 about 1:30 a.m. Morrison, a felon, said the officers — who were in plain clothes — pulled him out of his vehicle, threw him on the ground and kicked him in his face.

“I pull into my driveway and they come running, open the door and drag me out, beat me up,” Morrison said.

He said the officers then left the scene and his teenage daughter called 911.

Morrison was treated and released from Parkland Memorial Hospital on Wednesday for injuries that he said include fractures. Authorities are trying to determine whether all of his injuries were sustained during the confrontation with the officers, whose names were not released.

Dallas police Deputy Chief Randy Blankenbaker said Wednesday said the case was under investigation.

“Departmental supervisors became aware of the incident soon after it happened and initiated a public integrity and internal affairs referral immediately,” said Blankenbaker, Police Chief David Brown’s chief of staff. “Two officers have been placed on restricted duty while their involvement in the incident is under investigation by public integrity and internal affairs.”

Morrison’s record includes arrests on drugs, robbery, burglary and weapons charges.
