PORTAGE, Mich. — Dash cam video captured gunfire erupting at the end of a pursuit of an armed man.
According to WOOD-TV, the May 14 incident began when police attempted to stop 37-year-old Sean Pelletier and his brother, 29-year-old Aaron Pelletier.
Sean was wanted on a trespassing warrant in connection to an ongoing eviction out of his mother’s home. MLive reports multiple agencies were involved in the pursuit after those involved in the initial stop called for assistance.
Aaron was in the driver’s seat as police officers attempted to block the vehicle. Shots were fired after Sean armed himself with what police described as a “high-powered military-style rifle.”
Sean was shot and killed at the scene. Aaron was wounded and is in critical condition at a hospital.
Two bullets reportedly went through the window of a nearby apartment, but no one was injured. A total of six officers fired their weapons in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
