Duo posing as cops rob Mass. home

By Jessica Fargen

CHELSEA, Mass. — Police say Chelsea residents robbed last night by a pair of Jetta-driving armed cop impersonators are among a growing number of victims in Everett, Revere and East Boston who have fallen prey to the scary scheme.

Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes said two men, both wearing police badges around their necks or on their jackets, told the residents at 837 Broadway that they had a warrant to search the apartment. One of the men had a gun, Kyes said.

“They knocked on the door, approached the residents and claimed to be police officers looking for drugs,” he said.
