ASHLAND, Mass. — A peaceful morning dog walk ended in a full-force rescue Monday when a firefighter wearing an inflatable suit and a police officer in full uniform jumped into the Ashland Reservoir to rescue a drowning yellow Lab.
“I was having a slight panic attack,” said professional dog walker Marsha Birtwistle, who said the yellow Lab Holly chased leaves into the water and refused to come out.
Birtwistle fought an urge to jump in and save the dog, but instead called the Fire Department.
