WABASH, Ind. — Law enforcement officers across Indiana came out in full force to support the daughter of an officer killed in the line of duty.
Fox News reports that 39 LEOs from six departments in Indiana attended Lauren Rich’s high school graduation on Saturday. Lauren’s father, Master Trooper Detective Dave Rich, was fatally shot in 2007 while investigating a reported stranded vehicle.
Sgt. Tony Slocum said Lauren was 7 years old when her father, who served for 17 years, was killed.
“Congrats Lauren, we promise we will never forget your family’s sacrifice,” Slocum wrote in a tweet.
Slocum called Lauren’s father an “awesome guy” and said the fallen trooper would’ve been proud of the “great young lady” Lauren has become.
